Les Miserables
School Edition
Spring
Young Rep (March 2009)
Epic, grand and uplifting, the third
longest running musical in Broadway history packs an emotional
wallop that has thrilled audiences all over the world. In 19th
century France, Jean Valjean is released from 19 years of unjust
imprisonment, but finds nothing in store for him but mistrust and
mistreatment. He breaks his parole in hopes of starting a new
life, initiating a life-long struggle for redemption as he is
relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert. During the Paris
student uprising of 1832, Javert must confront his ideals after
Valjean spares his life and saves that of the student
revolutionary who has captured the heart of Valjean’s adopted
daughter.
Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka, Jr.
Spring Main Stage (May 2009)
Roald Dahl’s timeless story of the
world-famous candy maker and his quest to find an heir comes to
life in this stage adaptation of “Charlie and The Chocolate
Factory,” which features the songs from the classic family film
“Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory.” Charlie Bucket wins the
last of five golden tickets entitling him and Grandpa Joe to enter
a world of pure imagination as envisioned by eccentric candyman
Willy Wonka, who mixes it with love and makes the world taste
good.
