Fort Lauderdale Children's Theatre, Inc., is an educational center for theatre arts serving children and families across South Florida.  Our Mission is to teach the art of life through the magic of theatre. Not only do we present the best in children’s theatre, but we also have a full array of classes, camps and other events, plus fund-raisers and social events.

But we can’t do it all without your help!

What you can expect as a volunteer:

    * You will have a rewarding experience while being treated with courtesy and respect.
    * You can expect to have fun.
    * You'll work with a team of professionals that enjoy theatre just as much as you do.
    * You'll make new friends and connections.

What we expect from volunteers:

    * We expect you to arrive on time, dressed appropriately, and ready to work.
    * If you are unable to come or are running late, we expect you to contact one of the Volunteer Coordinators immediately so we can replace you.
    * We expect you to work to your fullest capacity, but also enjoy the experience.

Volunteer Usher Program

    * Do you enjoy working with children and the public?
    * Would you like to contribute to an extraordinary cultural environment?
    * Are you enthusiastic about the arts and award-winning live theatre?

If you answered yes, then our Volunteer Usher Program might be perfect for you!

Volunteer ushers are a vital part of the FLCT family. Whether seating a classroom of kindergarteners about to enjoy their first live theatre performance or helping a family of six find seats together during opening night excitement, ushers ensure that our patrons enjoy the very best experience possible during their time with us.  Volunteering is also a great community service opportunity for high school students.

Usher Responsibilities:

    * Dress in a white shirt and black pants or a skirt and arrive one hour before performance
    * Seat audience and distribute Playbills
    * Assist audience members with special needs
    * Direct audience members to restrooms as needed
    * Help to make Fort Lauderdale Children’s a wonderful experience!
